Of course, folks who had the foresight to pick up the Season Pass need not fret at all, since the Hall of Fame Showcase can be downloaded for free.
Regardless of the platform on which you enjoy WWE 2K17, you will still have to fork out $9.99 for it as a standalone DLC. Those who are interested in the WWE 2K17 Hall of Fame Showcase will be able to enjoy it on the Sony PlayStation 4, Sony PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Who can forget the Sting, whom I deem to be the Ultimate Warrior’s clone? To see him feature in at least two matches under the Hall of Fame Showcase is certainly a job well done, as it does not depict any kind of favoritism to gamers and fans alike. Not only that, it is nice to see how WWE has more or less consolidated the wrestling world into just one federation, and the “poorer brother” (or at the very least, that is my perception based on the fact that I grew up in the era of WCW and WWF) known as WCW has its stable of wrestlers under the WWE banner for quite some time now. Certainly it should be incentive enough for WWE 2K17 gamers to pick up this final DLC for the moment in order to enhance their digital wrestling experience, right? After all, there is nothing quite like having a blast from the past, especially when you have luminaries like the above mentioned to be part of the Hall of Fame Showcase DLC.
These game modes will include the likes of Universe, My Career, and Exhibition, among others. It is also interesting to note that all of the characters involved, as well as the respective arenas, will also be made available to the different modes that can be found in the game. Also, the Daniel Bryan from the younger days, will move quicker and will be more submission based, while the more recent Daniel Bryan will movie a little slower, but he will have moves such as his Yes Kicks and Yes Lock, to name but two.2K Sports has kept to their promise, rolling out WWE 2K17's Hall of Fame Showcase on February 21. Each of the 11 Daniel Bryan’s featured will have a different appearance, move-set and taunts, each to replicate the Daniel Bryan of that era. The Daniel Bryan Showcase mode will feature a total of 11 matches (and one bonus, surprise match), but also 11 different versions of Daniel Bryan starting from his Velocity match with John Cena as Bryan Danielson (his real name). However, this format will be taken up a notch, as the Showcase mode will not only feature highlights, but also interviews with Daniel Bryan to give first-hand accounts on the key moments in his career. This campaign will focus on Daniel Bryan’s career, such as his very early matches with John Cena on the sub-show Velocity from back in 2003, to his epic victory capturing WWE Gold against The Authority at Wrestlemania 30, to his heart-breaking retirement speech in 2016, right on through to his triumphant return at Wrestlemania 34 this year!Īs with Showcase modes of past, it will be presented in somewhat of a documentary format, highlighting key moments in Daniel Bryan’s career, before playing out those moments with a match.
Now being a huge lifelong fan of WWF/WWE and Daniel Bryan being one of my all-time favourites, I couldn’t be more excited to play this mode. After a number of years of absence, finally following a high demand in fan requests (including myself in more than one review), the Showcase mode is returning with the release of WWE 2K19 and it will focus on none other than Daniel Bryan.
